{"id":799,"date":"2011-12-05T07:53:52","date_gmt":"2011-12-04T20:53:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/catesings.org\/?p=799"},"modified":"2011-12-05T07:53:52","modified_gmt":"2011-12-04T20:53:52","slug":"advent-calendar-day-4-herzlich-lieb-hab-ich-dich-o-herr-schutz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/catesings.catespeaks.net\/index.php\/2011\/12\/05\/advent-calendar-day-4-herzlich-lieb-hab-ich-dich-o-herr-schutz\/","title":{"rendered":"Advent Calendar Day 4 &#8211;  Herzlich lieb hab ich dich o Herr (Sch\u00fctz)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One disadvantage in putting together this advent calendar is the undoubted fact that I know nothing about liturgy and the lectionary.\u00a0Other than my general Advent policy of all Mary, all the time, and a vague notion that penitential texts are called for, I don\u2019t actually know which texts are appropriate, so I constantly have my ears pricked for hints.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Anyway, someone on my friendslist helpfully mentioned in passing that Psalm 18 is commonly read for the second Sunday in Advent.\u00a0Score!\u00a0Except that I don\u2019t actually know any settings of Psalm 18 off the top of my head.\u00a0 Not such a score&#8230;\u00a0Fortunately, I am entirely shameless in my pursuit of Advent music, and have absolutely no hesitation in getting on Google and searching \u2018Psalm 18 Bach\u2019 \u2018Psalm 18 Mendelssohn\u2019 \u2018Psalm 18 Handel\u2019 \u2018Psalm 18 Schutz\u2019 until something comes up\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I hit the jackpot on \u2018Schutz\u2019, with more entries than I could poke a stick at.
