{"id":47,"date":"2012-10-17T12:56:17","date_gmt":"2012-10-17T01:56:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/catesings.org\/?p=47"},"modified":"2012-10-17T12:56:17","modified_gmt":"2012-10-17T01:56:17","slug":"come-away-death-roger-quilter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/catesings.catespeaks.net\/index.php\/2012\/10\/17\/come-away-death-roger-quilter\/","title":{"rendered":"Come Away Death (Roger Quilter)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve only discovered Quilter recently, mostly because there was a book of his art song available at the Allans sale a few weeks ago and I was seduced by the prospect of singing Shakespeare&#8217;s poetry.\u00a0 My friendly salesperson, who is a fellow lover of Purcell and 19th century French opera, eyed my choice with disfavour.\u00a0 &#8220;Well&#8230; it&#8217;s very&#8230; pretty,&#8221; he finally said, clearly attempting diplomacy.
